A Nonviolent Protest of the RNC in NYC

The Republican National Convention is coming to New York City.
Whether you are Republican, Democrat, Green, Libertarian, or Independent,
as a New Yorker, you know that having the RNC here risks another attack.

How much do the Republicans want to own New York?
Enough to destroy it?
To drive out it's residents?
Spend all our money?
Ruin education and the future of our children?
Destroy the voting middle class?
There are tons of reasons that the RNC should not be held here!

SO VOICE YOUR DISSENT!!

Beginning at 7pm to 7 am on August 29th through Sept 3rd.
Every half hour, yell something, anything, out your window, on the street, in any public place
--- anything at all to voice your dissent to the unnecessary risk of having the Republicans hold their convention here.

It is essential that the protest remains peaceful,
so don´t throw anything or incite someone to throw something at you.
It´s bad enough that the Republicans will plant instigators in our peaceful protests.
They did it in 2000 they will try again.
With such indecent cheaters, we must be doubly careful.

NYC law prohibits disturbing the peace before 8:30 am and 11:30pm (check your local ordinances),
but this is counterbalanced by your first amendment right to free speech.
Political discourse is protected speech under the United States Constitution, without regard to local rules, as long as it is peaceful.

SO SPEAK OUT!!

We have included below a list of possible statements you may use, but feel free to make up your own.
Yell anything you like on the hour and the half hour.

Send your suggestions of proclamations to chuckles@bway.net
We will list them gladly.

Protestations: A list from Citizens
and others expecting the promise for freedom to be truest in America.

MIDNIGHT MUSIC JAM

Finally, every night at midnight join other protestors in legal outdoor spaces (including the space outside of windows) to play live music loudly.
Try to synchronize with other rooftops or others within earshot.
The idea is to create a final midnight finale of cacophony, the first jamming New York Roof, Patios and Window Protest.

WE LOOK FORWARD TO HEARING YOU!
