Somtimes people ask me, "Rev., I've got Slack now, why should I waste my $30 on ordainment?". I know how you feel. I had similar reservations myself. However, unable to resist "Bob"'s super-sales pitch, I was sold on the following premise. Yea, you may feel you've got Slack and it may actually be real, live, yeti Slack but heres the kicker. It aint yours! It's just borrowed Slack. At any time, a more deserving Subgenius can, with or without cause, strip you of your slack because you don't own it! Even if you manage to keep hold of that Slack, if you're not paid up on X-day, it's gone, sucked away by the more forward thinking or just plain lucky Subgenius as they Rocket off to be evolved. Okay, now you may be saying "$30! I'll wait 'till I see proof this X-day thing is really gonna happen". Keep in mind that as X-day approaches, the cost of salvation will go up. What costs you $30 now may very well rise to $30,000 or higher two years from now. You don't have to be an investment banker to see the fiscal sence this makes. Hope to see you on the escape vessles.
