My links page is not meant to be exhaustive but to feature sites I enjoy and think you'll find helpful. Links for the generalist as well as the specialist. My selection of these sites implies no endorsement but I've found value in them. All I can say is seek and discover. There's some real gems out there.

Library of Congress Selected Civil War Photographs Home Page : 1,118 viewable images, information on photographers and period photographic technique, as well as obtaining reproductions.

The Army Heritage & Education Center: contains a searchable database of thousands of Civil War photographs. Descriptions only but a great source if planning a visit.

National Park Service's Civil War Soldiers and Sailors System: links to brief histories and statistics for 384 Civil War battlefields and in-depth report on Shenandoah battlefields.

History of African-Americans in the Civil War: National Park Service file of very detailed information covering many units.

American Civil War: Resources on the Internet: Jim Janke's excellent index of what was then and what is now. His home page leads to other interesting indexes.

The Schomberg Center for Research in Black Culture: homepage of our local world-class research center and archives. Part of the New York Public Library System, the Schomberg site guides you through its manuscripts, rare books, art & photography, film and wealth of other resources.

U.S. Civil War Center: Louisiana State University's exhaustive index of Civil War sites includes a cemetery search engine, frequently up-dated "What's New" section, and large topical index.

Lest We Forget: an early online and comprehensive site of African-American interests, issues, and history. Much to explore and a goldmine of links. Excellent Civil War bibliography.

Plug Ugly: An American Civil War Website: artist Lowell Boileau's visual and textual presentation of the story of Detroit's Gen. Alpheus Starkey Williams and his horse...Plug Ugly. This site is a must-see. Don't forget to pick up your password.
