Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost?

This is estimated in your initial free consultation. I must have a look at the area and get pertinent information from you before making this estimate. The first treatment can be 15 minutes or half an hour, which is $25 or $40.

How long does it take?

An estimate can be made after I view the area and get a client's personal history on how the area's been previously treated. We are dealing with current (visible hairs) and regrowth (hairs not visible at present). There is usually more hair in an area than is immediately visible to the naked eye. It may take six months, a year or more.

Will I get scars or skin damage?

There is none with proper procedure and aftercare. I specifically monitor skin behavior closely to achieve the best results.

Is it safe?

Yes! I use pre-sterilized, individually wrapped disposable needles. The needle ( a thin hair like filament) is inserted in the probe and disposed of in your presence.

Is it permanent?

Yes! It is the only method proven to be effective and permanent. The phrase, "This really works," is one I hear repeatedly from pleased clients.

What are ingrowns and do you handle them?

Ingrown-grown into flesh (World book Dictionary Definition #2). The follicle (beneath the skin) is curved or distorted and the hair starts to push upward but curves back into the flesh. The epidermis (top layer of the skin) covers this hair and it may remain flat but in many cases it creates a nodule. If not released, it may get infected and can be painful. I've found this to be a natural phenomenon created by tweezing, waxing and shaving. Yes, I definitely treat ingrown as I encounter them.

In my experience waxing brings about ingrown over a short or long period of time (varies from client to client). I warn all clients of this possible sideffect. On principle, I do not deliver facial waxing.
