The HTML version of the manual was produced from the TeX version by the program TTH
(TeX to HTML), http://hutchinson.belmont.ma.us/tth/. The result is a very reasonable
facsimile of the pdf version. It has the advantages of being small, readable by a browser,
and being searchable -- no index is necessary. The disadvantage is that some of
the mathematical symbols are not so clear. If you are running on a Mac, you need to go to
the View menu and make sure that the "character set" is set to "Western Mac Roman", which is
not the default. Even still, some of the special symbols do not look right (the "glyphs"),
and that can be exacerbated by your choice of browser font. So you may want to also download
the pdf version of the manual.
