Some Things Are Better Left Alone


With smiles on their faces
they demand, "Tell us how you are different!"

A clod of earth on a cliff was eager too. It too demanded to know, "What is water?" - "Why does water dance with wind in waves?" - "Why is water everywhere at once?" - "Why is water lapidary to stone?" - before it lost its hold to rain, fell into the sea, and dissolved. Brandywine 9/3/98
