So I crashed and my right arm absorbed the whole thing. I thought "Oh yea, that'll be sore", My friend Kevin asked if I was alright. I held my wrist and gave it a few twists. It crunched and moved more than ever before. I told Kevin I broke it. So we walked back to the van, me taking a few breaks to lie down and let the blood get back in my head. Then to the hospital. The doc said the radius was smashed into hundreds of pieces and the ulna was busted up to. So he drilled holes in my hand and arm, then attatched the Hoffman Fixator you see in the picture. When I awoke in the recovery room I found James Garner (Jim Rockford himself) in the bed next to me. He had just had his kidneys overhauled or somthing like that. The arm clamp imobilized my wrist for six weeks. It took me another six weeks or so to start feeling comfortable on my bike again and my right hand is still a little weak. On the super cool, gen-x, hipster side of this... I've got pierced bones!
