] Some of the ruins of the vast Angkor Wat complex are so colossal that it can take a while to clamber to the top of them. And heaven help the fool who looks down--he's standing on stones laid by people who died a millennium ago.  All around you is miles of jungle, thick with snakes, bugs, and humidity.
